Are you looking for a unique way to celebrate Burns Night this year? At SwimEasy, we decided to pay tribute to Scotland’s National Bard, Robert Burns, with a special twist.
We asked ourselves: “What if Rabbie Burns taught swimming lessons?”
The result is our brand new animated poem, “Tae a Pool”! Whether you are in Glasgow, Edinburgh, or Falkirk, we hope this brings a smile to your face (and maybe inspires a splash in the pool).
The Poem: Tae a Pool

Fair fa’ your honest, sonsie splash! The year comes in wi’ quite a dash, Nae need for panic or for fash, Just jump right in! The Magic Box has goodies stash’d, Let fun begin!
Stand up, Professor SwimEasy bold, Wi’ tales of swimming to be told, And Mrs SwimEasy, good as gold, To guide the way, While Suzy and Sandy, brave and cold, Are here to play!
See Shelly Turtle glide sae sleek, Wi’ Snapper Shark at hide-and-seek, In twenty-six, it’s skills we seek, In waters blue. We’ll perfect strokes week after week, For me and you!
In Glesga toon the lessons flow, To Falkirk where the bairnies grow, And Edinburgh, row on row, New pools we grace! Where all the wee ones learn to go, At their own pace.
We train the young ones, teen and youth, To teach the classes, that’s the truth! Then send grand swimmers, nail and tooth, To Clubs sae grand, Wi’ Scottish Swimming, hand in booth, Across the land!
But hear me now, a solemn pledge, For those upon the water’s edge, The Darcey Sunshine privilege, We proudly cheer! To help them safely cross the bridge, This coming year.
Ye Powers wha mak mankind your care, And fill them up wi’ chlorine air, Auld Scotland wants nae splashing ware, That sinks sae queasy! But if ye wish her grateful prayer, Gie her SwimEasy!
A Special Request: The Darcey Sunshine Foundation
As you watched in the video (at 01:17), we have a serious and heartfelt request. We are currently supporting the search for Charity Trustees to join the Darcey Sunshine Foundation.
We are looking for passionate individuals to help us spread sunshine and water safety. If you have the skills to help guide our charity, we would love to hear from you.
