Teachers Corner – IONA

I’ve been an active member of the swimming community since I was very little. I began as the youngest of three sisters who all enjoyed swimming, joining our local club. My investment grew as I got older and began to take the sport more seriously. I competed in at the elite level until I turned 19 – the sport taught me countless vales, and discipline, and provided vast opportunities, including travelling as part of the Team GB junior squad. As I concluded my competitive swimming journey, I sought out opportunities to keep engaged and give back to the sport.

Swim easy allowed me to accomplish my goal of becoming a teacher. After 6 months of teaching, I can say that I am proud of my personal improvement, both in my teaching skills and as an individual. As a teacher, the feeling of seeing the progression of the swimmers is indescribable.

Outside of the swimming environment, I am a university student here in Edinburgh, so I often study, and aim to stay active through various sports including running, surfing, and cycling. Staying on top of my studies and exercising ensures I am my best self when I arrive on poolside.
