What’s special about our time at Braidburn is that this is where the SwimEasy magic starts, being host to our SwimBabies and SwimTots classes.

The warmer temperatures are a perfect introduction to structured swimming lessons for our youngest members of the programme. Braidburn is also host to our top level swimmers, SwimFast and our one-to-one and one-to-two classes.

Braidburn School’s hydrotherapy pool is designed to meet the requirements of its additional needs students, meaning that the pool itself is a pleasantly warm facility.

Pool Information

Size: 17m in length x 3 lanes

Average Temperature: 33 degrees Celcius

Changing Rooms: There are separate spacious male and female communal changing facilities available on the opposite corridor from the pool with pool access being from the changing facilities. Changing tables are also available within the changing room. If attending for SwimBabies or SwimTots, we ask that used nappies are taken home for disposal.

Hygiene: Braidburn’s hygiene policy is that all swimmers must shower before entry. Our teachers really love it when children blow their noses and go to the toilet before the start of lessons. This tends to avoid any unwanted surprises and causes minimum disruption to the lessons!

Meeting Point

Meeting Point Children

Once changed, parents and children should congregate on poolside by the shallow end. In the interests of safety please do not enter the water until the previous class has finished as teachers need to be prepared and ready before commencing with the lesson.

Viewing the Pool

There is seating available at the shallow end of the pool by the changing rooms. We ask that no outdoor shoes are worn on poolside. We have sole use of the pool during lessons.

Personal Equipment

Compulsory:

Eye goggles must be worn to allow for clear vision.
No baggy shorts are allowed as they restrict leg movement.
All children must wear their SwimEasy swim cap to prevent distractions and for pool cleanliness.
Swimming Costumes must be tight fitting preferably one size smaller than normal.

Recommended:

Towel
Pool Shoes
Robe
T-Shirt
