Our Edinburgh swimming lessons at Gillespie’s are incredibly popular due to the central location. From pre-school non-swimmer level, through to pre-competition, SwimEasy teachers can teach your children how to swim with excellent technique.

The spacious pool is ideal for beginners in the water. Furthermore, attending weekend swimming lessons in Edinburgh’s Gillespie’s brand new pool makes for a great family day out, being near local amenities and parks.

As well as a Saturday, we also run swimming lessons on Monday and Wednesday evenings.

Pool Information

Size: 25m x 9m x 1.25-2m

Average Temperature: 29-30 degrees Celcius

Changing Rooms: There are private cubicles just off poolside to allow parents to help their child get ready for their lesson in privacy.

Hygiene: Our teachers really love it when children blow their noses and go to the toilet before the start of lessons. This tends to avoid any unwanted surprises and causes minimum disruption to the lessons.

Meeting Point

Once children are changed they can take a seat on the pool deck and wait to be collected by their teacher.

Viewing the Pool

There are poolside benches recessed just off the pool deck with limited viewing to allow parents to view the lessons. We ask that pool shoe covers are worn in the changing facility and on poolside; this keeps it nice and clean for all our teachers and swimmers.

Personal Equipment

Compulsory:

Eye goggles must be worn to allow for clear vision.
No baggy shorts are allowed as they restrict leg movement.
All children must wear their SwimEasy swim cap to prevent distractions and for pool cleanliness.
Swimming Costumes must be tight fitting preferably one size smaller than normal.

Entrance & Parking

Take the A700 to Warrender Park Rd. Turn left onto Brougham St/A700. Continue to follow A700. Turn right onto Marchmont Rd. Continue on Warrender Park Rd. Drive to Lauderdale St. Turn right onto Warrender Park Rd. Turn left onto Lauderdale St. James Gillespies will be on the right. Parking is to the rear of the building off Whitehouse Loan beside the astroturf.
